Filter for 10G divided three ways?

Hey guys,
I recently overhauled my tanks to fit three Betta to a 10g.. the critters all seem happy and well adjusted to their new homes. :) But I'm still having problems with filters.. I had some sponge filters that I loved, but the fish didn't take to them too well because of surface turbulence. That and Flair pretty much nose dived into the top of the filter and tore his fins all to pieces. At any rate, I'm looking for a filter that would suffice for a 10G that's divided three ways (two dividers).. and that I may not have to put a baffle on. I'm not that great of a craftsperson and I'm not sure I'd be able to pull off a baffle.

Would I need to buy one big one, since my tanks are divided, or several small ones? My dividers are made out of two sheets of glued plastic canvas.

So far I'm doing 25% change on all of my ten gals daily. I'm just worried about ammonia levels etc. :C

I also have a 20g divided for five fish, finding a filter for that would be great too.

I use 2 small ones and they work perfect. They're like $10ea at Walmart.
I've seen the power filters there too that are pretty cheap, and I'm thinking about moving onto those because of the smaller footprint.

It also depends on what your using for your dividers. If you have small holes in your divider I would definitely suggest getting 2 of them.

See this thread and you'll see what I'm talking about.

EDIT:
As far as a baffle, I got some kind of sponge that trickles the water down into the tank. It's really quite and makes almost no current.
I believe you can use the same kind of sponge stuff at your LFS.

for sponge filters if you have alot of turbulence you need a gang valve. I have one on all my filters and they are the only thing i use for my bettas.
