Would you mind if I fast? I also only have Freeze-dried Bloodworms. Which are only an occasional treat.
I give all my fish a pea on Saturday, then fast them on Sunday. I have found Bettas actually really like peas.
Good. I like active fish. All mine are. :3
Tailbiting? I have never heard of this... What is it?
I have heard mixed opinions about feeding peas, but if it works for you then that is fine. I personally cant stand freeze dried treats for my bettas, and he probably wont know what to do with it. I have also heard they cause SBD.
And tailbiting is just what it says, where they tear up their own tails out of boredom, or misplaced anger from becoming too excited.
I am going to tell you EXACTLY how I care for my Bettas. Just because I want you to know. :3
Each morning I wake up and say hello and wake them up. Then I talk to them for a few minutes, and go to school. Then when I come home I say hello again. Every evening I provide some kind of activity for them to do. Yuuki plays fetch or swim through the hoop or jump, and Ryu jumps and flares and is starting to get trained like Yuuki is. Then, before bed I give them 3 pellets. Then it is time to wind down and they start to get ready for bed. They lay on their Betta Hammocks (Both have them, and Splatter will get one too.) And the whole thing starts over again.
Weekly, though not needed, I do a gravel vacuum. For all my tanks.
Also, I do spot cleaning. For example, fi my Goldfish misses a flake, I will get it out with a turkey baster. This helps a lot.
And that is basically it. Simple but it keeps 'em alive. :3
Ouch! Sounds painful. I will make sure he isn't bored.
They do, which is why I only feed in VERY small amounts, Which is also why I give peas. peas have never hurt my Bettas, and Yuuki really just likes to throw it around the tank and go fetch it and then do it again. It is more like a toy. But he does eat it.
Don't you love it when they eat, how they chew like a dog? I always hear little crunching sounds when they are chewing, so cute!!!

Aww, sounds like he will get lots of love with you. :)
And yeah, tailbiting is no fun, that is why his tail is a little ragget, it is just finishing healing up from when he shredded it a couple weeks ago the little turkey. lol
The crunching sounds are adorable when i can hear them, but mostly they are drowned out by the sounds of my rats moving around to say hi to me because the fish tanks are right next to the rat cage. XD
