That poor little hamster, who ever abandoned them on the side like that to fend for themselves are down right mean and don't care for their animals or "Hamsters" its true, their are cruel mean people out there and its sad to see animals go through such abuse or to be homeless. to bad your parents wouldn't at least let you shelter it for at least the night. since your friends don't want any part of it cause their afraid of getting into trouble with their parents maybe call animal Control and have them at least shelter it and they will even nurish it back to health and put it up for adoption.

Thanks for all your suggestions...but I live in Shanghai, China, which is basically Chinese New York. Shanghai doesn't have any animal protection agency, so there was nobody to call. At the time I found the hamster it was already pretty late at night, so my parents wouldn't let me go back outside. D: Today, as soon as I could, I went to the same spot and sure enough...it was gone. I'm pretty sure I know what happened, since Shanghai is more of a " business" type of city than a "small town where people care" type of city. I try to think optimistically...so hopefully someone came and took it into their care.

I am sure hamster got a new home. I was really worried about him lastnight when I first read about this. But for sure, hamster is in a new home, with food, warmth, and likely warm, loving hands to hold him with.

I am sure the hamster is okay, well I hope he is, well its better to think he is then to worry. Hopefully someone picked it up and took it in for the night and maybe forever home?
