The white butterfly is part of thesalamnder coloring. ><

As for whether he'll lose it, i don't think so but i don't know for sure.

There are things called triple-tails which are a mutation of double tails. he might be a partial triple tail(not really reduced enough to be a triple tail) This doesn't breed true but a good way to test it might be to breed him and see if you get any doubletail fry.

Other then that though all i can say is he's a half moon. One who has had other tail types bred into his line a few generations back.

U can tell a hm only when he flare.....
Must fish store lable there fish as hm....
Just so they can sell them at a higher price....
But Most of them r super delta....
I have one fish with the same color...
But with abnormal side fin...
4x as big....
U can say it's a elephant(big ear) betta....

I love that clover-type pattern on his tail. It's unique and I'm sure will look brilliant when he finally decides to flare up for you. :)
