Nice! I love corns and if I ever get a snake...it will most likely be a corn. Though I love sand boas too.

I never saw one like Lady though! Very,very nice. Didn't even hear of that species. What is their care like?

African House Snakes have care that's pretty similar to corn snakes! I don't do anything different, honestly. I think they're supposed to like the temps just a smidge higher, that's all (: They stay fairly small, with males maxing out at 2-3 feet and females 4-6 feet. Lady's small size (at supposedly 2 years old) makes me think she's really a he.... but too late lol.

And they're fed frozen/thawed mice.

I'm probably not getting a snake anytime soon, but I'm just curious, is a 20 gallon long OK for a corn snake?

i'd NEVER get a snake, considering i feel bad and whenever i see crickets in a snakes tank, i want to rescue them, let alone mice. i have a real soft spot for the defenseless creatures, like when theres an ant in the house, i will PICK IT UP and bring it outside before anyone can squish it.

20 gallon is A-okay, but if you get the chance, I'd say go for a 29 or larger if you can! They LOVE the space! Most of them love to climb (: That extra height does a world of good for them.

The mice are humanely euthanized, so there isn't any pain for them.

Thanks. I'll have to do some research! I love researching animals (even if I am not getting them). I never even heard of this kind of snake till now,but I like them.

Yes! So true. I was able to visit the breeders of the mice who we purchase from--these rodents get infinitely better lives(and are more humanely euthanized) than nearly any livestock humans eat! They receive excellent care, and their caretakers truly love them. Honestly, these guys get better care than most pet rodents I see!

It's a sad part of being an animal lover--when you love the carnivores too! But that's why I love having the option of feeding them humanely euthanized rodents.
