I may be wrong on this but aren't pin sized holes in fins a sign that the ammonia is too high? Or i guess getting into a fight would do it as well..

I don't think it would be ammonia, because before the accident I did regular water changes and he was perfectly fine. But still I just don't know what caused the holes.....

Okay, if you are sure it happened after you got him, then most likely wouldn't be ammonia if you kept up on the water changes. Then I change my stance to a deco that did it. =) Still I would recommend what I did previous and just use clean water + stress coat.
