Exclamation help my favourite beta is dying

OK so last night I changed the filter cartridge and today he was floating around the bottom looking dead, so I went to flush him and he swam away, so I did a water change and added some aquarium salt ( cause were I live I can't go buy some have to wait three days until it arrives and I'm fresh out ) so help what do I do I can't get a pic of him he is real pretty and I love him and he s not bloated has no fin rot, milky eyes, or white fluffy spots on his body so any suggestions p.s he is really expensive import help

Could you tell any of the symptoms? Also, copy and paste the sticky at the top of the forum to answer the questions so we can see what is wrong. Is he pale, are his fins clamped, etc?

Go to this thread and copy the questions listed in the quote. Fill in as many answers as you can. It'll give the people on the board the info they need to help with your betta problems.

I'll do it for you, but next time, highlight all the words by clicking and dragging your mouse over them, right click and say 'copy', and then right click the text box and say 'paste'

Housing
What size is your tank?
What temperature is your tank?
Does your tank have a filter?
Does your tank have an air stone or other type of aeration?
Is your tank heated?
What tank mates does your betta fish live with?

Food
What type of food do you feed your betta fish?
How often do you feed your betta fish?

Maintenance
How often do you perform a water change?
What percentage of the water do you change when you perform a water change?
What type of additives do you add to the water when you perform a water change?

Water Parameters:
Have you tested your water? If so, what are the following parameters?

Ammonia:
Nitrite:
Nitrate:
pH:
Hardness:
Alkalinity:

Symptoms and Treatment
How has your betta fish's appearance changed?
How has your betta fish's behavior changed?
When did you start noticing the symptoms?
Have you started treating your fish? If so, how?
Does your fish have any history of being ill?
How old is your fish (approximately)?



I have done it for you. Answer all the questions and give a list of symptoms. What makes you think he's dying? Etc.

Moon, let's continue the convo back on this thread

Moon PMed me telling me the betta is seeming to have trouble swimming, only moving when startled or when something goes into the tank. He also has trouble getting air.

My suggestion is if he is struggling getting to air to lower the water level to 2-3 inches so that he can breathe easier!

Maybe when she took the filterout dead bacteria were released into the water?
