Can I use this heater in my tank?

I dont know a lot about heaters so I figured it would be best to ask before using it.


I have a 200W submersible heater that's adjustable. Had it for my 40g, but now its not being used.


I'd like to use it for my 20g. I know that its a lot of extra wattage, but would it possibly to use it? Could I need to just set the temp extra low?


Id rather not have to go out and buy another extra one since I dont have a ton of extra money laying around, but it its not safe, I can go and get another one.

As long as its still keeping the water at the correct temp then its fine. It just means it will get to temp faster.
