I can understand some people having to move back in with parents due to the loss of a job. I have a neighbor whose son and family lived with her for about 6 months in a 3 bedroom condo. The son has 3 kids so it was a tight fit but you have to do what you have to do.I live with my mom and I'm 50 but I'm disabled, too.

Yeah, in situations like DQs and when people lose jobs, it's understandable. I just don't understand why the husband isn't out getting a better job with the VA's help or something. And they live in a pretty small house with four kids under the age of eighteen who have to live there because they're still in school and whatnot. I don't know, I just know I don't want to have to depend on my parents permanently.

I talked to my mom, and she was like "Go for it" so I will. I can't take the ASVAB next thursday because it's thanksgiving. While I could do it, I just frankly don't want to on thanksgiving. So week after next, the ball will be rolling. :)

A girl I work with was just telling a story about having her ferret in her army dorm. So they may actually let you take the fish. Never hurts to ask!

Ooh. I like the prospects of having my babies with me, then. Lol. I will ask, once I'm assigned to a base. <3 That's still a ways off, though.

Thanks, Marvelous. :D

Congrats on your decision. I hope you'll still be able to stay in touch with the forum. We'd like to hear how you're doing, if possible and give you some moral support. :)

I will. Even if just to ooh and ahh over everyone else's beautiful fishies. Lol. I won't get to take my laptop with me to basic, but after that, I can have it. (:

No, I don't know, yet. From what I've been able to tell with my research, it depends on the job you want to do, which you get to pick from a list as long as you test high enough. I definitely teseted high enough to get pretty much any job I want. I have in mind to be a cryptologic linguist. I looked online at the base where they send people who want it and it's two bases, one in TX and one in CA, I believe.

The job requires a security clearance, though, so *no* talking about my days at work. Lol.

My sister in law is at Ft Hood, Tx but I don't know if it's Air Force or Army. She's not in the military but works for the Army and Air Force. She's a business manager.
