OMG ! That's beautiful, I just LOVE that purple color !

I want to get some size 8 needles and worsted weight yarn when I start trying to knit. Watch out for flying needles soon !
Haha, yup! I'm dangerous with my needles. Self-striping yarn is yarn that has gone through a special dye process so that when you knit it up, it magically forms its own stripes or pattern, more or less. Most of the time, you see this in really fine sock yarn but there are some worsted weights that are self-striping too.

You'll do great when you start knitting. :D

If I used this yarn on size 8 needles to make this scarf

http://www.knitpicks.com/tutorials/H...carf__D88.html

How many bundles of yarn would I need to make one scarf ?

Now I know the width u do makes a difference, but I just need idea on how much to buy.

I think you might be able to get away with just one skein on that scarf- it looks pretty small. But getting two is always a good idea. :P I managed to make a HUGE scarf (8-9 ft in length) with only two skeins of "Vanna's Choice" worsted yarn. :D

EDIT:: Also they knit with circular needles, but you can do it on straight needles as well.

I'd say pretty decently long. 4-5 feet? If that skein is 190 yards...*figures*..and size US 8...17 stitches = 4"...*scratches head*

*shrugs*
No idea. lol.
