Red's head looks fine. It's completely normal for a betta's head to be a different colour to its body (see previous comment in this post on this matter). My royal blue crowntail's head is a purple-black. The area around Red's gills etc looks fine, not as if he's been losing scales. Stop freaking DaveysRose out!

oh ok then,hah sorry, i was just wondering becuase for my fish,his redness in that area varies from time to time, like one week he has more of the peachy color skin showing and the next it appears like the red scales or color has grown back, i was just wondering the cause of that. so i guess t might be from stress from time to time....

Hmm, that's a little different.

Have you tested your water for ammonia?

hmm so maybe chemical burns or some thing? btw i need ur guys help on sumthing,im wondering what the cause of my fish's case of having ick AGAIN around 2 weeks after he recovered now he has i again,
