i have a 10g tank just recently got it and set it up im gonna be doing a 50% water change tomorrow on it. My question is when i remove the 50% water do i also wash the tank glass from inside? or can i leave it and just clean the gravel

You don't have to but it's a good idea to keep your glass crystal clear.

I wouldn't wash the glass unless it is very hard to see through because good bacteria is housed on the glass also.

The amount of beneficial bacteria housed in the glass is non-significant compared to that in the substrate and the filter.
The "dirt" on the glass will fall into the water but it will be out of your glass.
Everything get stirred up when you do a water change so you WILL see the water a little cloudy for a few hours, it will all settle down.

If you want to clean the glass, I would clean it before you take out the water. I use an algae scrubber when it builds up and then siphon the water out. That way the gunk comes out with the water.

I agree. Wipe the glass then do the water change. That is how I do it...I only clean the inside of the glass when it starts to look dirty though...maybe once a month or so.
