Fun things for a high school fish club

I'm considering starting a new club at my high school exclusively for fish owners--The Fish Fanciers. (of course, people wishing to join to talk about their furry friends will also be allowed) I'm going to discuss it with my bestie tomorrow, but I was wondering what you guys think some activities for the club might be. I already have a short list.
-Volunteering at shelters
-Fundraisers for shelters
-Voting on the best pet picture each month (kinda like on here, lol)

I'd also want to do some petitioning to better the care of fish in chain stores.
Any other ideas or suggestions?

At our local aquarium society (understandably it's a bit bigger than a school club, but you can use some of this), we bring in things to sell and swap. If someone breeds red cherry shrimp, for instance, maybe they might swap it for someone's guppy fry. We also have a talk at every meeting. One month someone might talk about plants, the next someone else will talk about their troubles in setting up a fishroom. I'm going to give a talk on my sorority. :)
