is this a bubble nest???

i recently saw a hole bunch of bubbles on my oldest bettas tank walls. may these possibly be a bubble nest? the bubbles were the size of his eyes.

Didn't want to make another board when there's already something similar, so here's a question:

My sister's (possibly my) betta makes very small bubbles around the tank (not very clustered, just sort of outlining the tank). Do bigger bubbles mean a happier fish, or is small & big the same?
I'm glad he's finally making a bubble nest, though, because he wasn't until we got him Hikari Betta Pellets! That sounded like an advertisement, but I'm serious! Flakes do NOT work for Bettas...at least none of my bettas.

if the bubbles are on the tank walls, that doesnt sound like a bubble nest, the bubbles should be in a large group floating on top of the water.

bettas do create nests showing they are healthy, so thats a good sign, but also keep on top of ur water maintenance, because water becomes foamy when its bad water quality.

I don't think that it's bad water quality, because it (presumably) started making them right after we changed foods (from flakes to pellets). The flakes would (literally) cloud up the water and make the tank stink only a day or two after cleaning it. It was awful. Now the tank stays a LOT clearer, doesn't stink...so I'm assuming they're happy bubbles =P

Thanks for that tip - I never knew that it would get foamy if the water was bad! I'll keep that in mind.

i don't think thats a bubb;e nest because bubble nests are on top of the water. wen i got my first tank and filled it up wit water, it had bubbles outlining the whole tank wuth no other fish inside

Well, it sure is a nest now! I don't know any water-foam that expands into the water in the form of teensy bubbles! lol. 'Pearl' looks like a very happy betta! :D :is so glad:
