Make sure to give the shrimp plenty of dark places to hide and cover :)

Oh I will! I plan on buying hiding places for both my betta and the shrimp :) It wil be so much fun watching him in a better tank!

Good choice! Ghost shrimp are surprisingly cool. If they survive a week or so with your betta (some are more murderous than others, lol) they will stop hiding and swim around the tank. Watching a ghost shrimp dog paddle is just about the funniest thing you can see in a fish tank XD I adore mine.

I got the tank set up!! There are 3 fake (soft) plastic plants, 1 inch of blue/green gravel/ a cave/plant a heater, filter, and a thermometer. my betta (Dexter) is as happy as can be. He has 10 little ghost shrimp buddies swimming around with him ;) If I can figure out how to post a picture, i will :)
