Can anyone confirm to me what my Sunny is? Just got him yesterday and he was just labeled as a "male betta"? I am thinking a Red VT? He does have a bit of irredescent to his body though and some purple/blue coloring?

Thank you everyone for the advice. Unfortunately this morning he was gone...I just don't think he was ever healthy to begin with. I took him back to petsmart a bit ago, tested water etc and everything was good on that. I felt awful though but the lady there told me sometimes there is just nothing you can do.


My son picked out a half moon and he is just gorgeous. Never had that kind before but he looks extremely healthy and has already eaten 2 pellets since coming home (he is still in his cup floating to get adjusted to tank temp).


I spent all morning cleaning the tank from the last fish and then replacing it all. Praying this Sunny (my son refused to give him a new name lol) does better than the last.

sunnylover, it looks like Sunny the first was a veil tail! i'm sorry he died but it looks like he had some tail biting issues. hopefully sunny the second will have a wonderful, long life!

He is very pretty:D, but he is having some fin issues(splitting)and I don't know the reason just yet. I would love to post some pics of him, just got to find the camera and the cord and see if its compatable with my laptop XD

She's a veil tail female I know for sure. But you think her coloring is wild type? And can females express the king gene? cuz she's huge and vicious
