Cloudy water after adding sand.

I know I have to wait til my sand settles in before it starts clearing up, but I was wondering is this much cloudiness normal?

I've not used sand personally, would love to because it gives an aesthetic I find pleasing.

What I remember about sand is it can cause cloudiness as you've described, did you rinse the sand prior to tank adding and fill?

Perhaps try taking out water and replacing, but this may cause further cloudiness. It's also possible that the cloudiness will settle over time.

Yeah I was planning to wait a few hours and siphon 25 % of the water and see if it clears up a little bit more.

Yeah. It will settle after a few hours but if there's too much saturation of the lighter particles it will still be cloudy.
AFter I filled my tank with water it was very cloudy and siphoning water and addind new worked. It was still not clear but it cleared up after a few hours with the filter running. If you do have your filter running with this much dust then rinse it once the water clears out.
