He definitely looks like a "big ear" betta.
You should separate your male and female unless you are breeding them; one will probably end up killing the other.

the female looks like a plakat to me, but it's difficult to say.
I would still separate the two; even if they have lots of room and cover, they will still beat each other up.

Some people will never understand. They're too beautiful to put two to one tank and it be safe. Sure it may be big, and have lots of cover, but I would personally never risk it with my bettas. Especially two beautiful ones like that.

Also, as well as what the other posters have said, what kind of crustacean is that in the picture of the female? It looks like a crayfish to me, and they will kill your bettas as well. Especially the slow moving male...

They are beautiful, but they need to be apart unless breeding, and you need to be very weary of that crayfish.

Yes definitely get them separated ASAP. Also do your research before breeding. It's a very delicate process and is very expensive. You spend more than you make! Also get that crayfish out of there...I've seen them tear bettas apart. It's not pretty in the least, and you could loose those gorgeous fish!

Edit; He's either a delta or a halfmoon. It's hard to tell unless you get a picture of him flaring.
