Introducing Hannibal

This is our Hannibal. We got him back on the 8th. He's missing a huge chunk from his dorsal (bought him that way), but looks good otherwise.

This is the best picture he has let me take so far. He has really nice color in his fins, but doesn't like to let me take pictures when the light hits him well. I'll try to get more pictures of him soon.

He earned it. XD He's bitten me upwards of 10 times now. Likes to get me me when I feed him. He likes to do this creepy thing when he's hiding under his little betta bowl heater where he sticks his head out from the darkness and then backs back up. Since his head is completely black, it gives a nice creepy vibe.

I just wish he'd let me get a picture of him under good light. He has really nice coloring when he decides to show it off.

LOL oh bettas...So photogenic, yet not, all at the same time :P Some don't stop moving, and others just plain don't come out for photo time!

Indeed! XD
Hannibal likes to come to where there is really nice lighting until the camera comes out. Then he faces the camera head on and wont turn. Silly thing. A shame since he has such nice color laced through his tail.

Going to try to get some good pics of him today. Hoping that he decides to cooperate and show off his lovely colors for me. Have my fingers crossed hoping to get him to finally do a full flare.

Here is his newest picture!

Sorry for the reflections. You can see how he has a pretty green on him in this one. He wasn't happy about me trying to get his picture though. Kept puffing up at me (though he wouldn't flare). You can see the top of his plastic hairgrass in this along with his thermometer. I took it with the cell phone, so I'm sorry for the poor quality.

Keep trying to take the pictures, I have had luck after my guys got used to seeing the camera. Also just put it by the tank during feeding time, once they are used to it you can snap your pics easier. :)

Thank you for the advice. ^_^ I'll definitely have to give that a try. Especially since his dorsal is growing back.

I may have to start taking a few videos of him as well. He's been doing some funny/strange things. He's moved gravel out from under his heater to make it a better cave and uses his filter as a kind of fish treadmill.

Here's another pic of our boy. He's looking better and better. His blues are nice and rich and his reds are nice and bright. Still doesn't let me take very good pics of him, but I try. XD

We have also found out that the "VT" we bought is actually a Combtail.
