Greetings from Denver!

Greetings and salutations!

The name is Holly, though I usually go by Stray, a nickname given to me in 5th grade. Weird I know, but normal is boring! Anyway, I was browsing the internet, doing some Betta research, because one can never be too educated, and I stumbled across this forum. I have been looking it over for the better part of a month and finally decided to join. I have to say, this page is full of useful information, and helped me with my most recent Betta adventure. I am a new happy parent of a multicolored veil tail named Jarvis!

I have been fishkeeping since middle school, keeping Bettas and Goldfish mostly throughout that time. My last Betta friend, Backdraft, passed away a couple years ago, after three years together. A couple months afterward, we had to put my dog down. R.I.P. Backdraft and Darcy. <3

Since then I have been petless, but I couldn't handle the loneliness anymore, and decided to get another Betta, hence the research overload. It had been a couple years, and wanted to make sure I was up to par. I am so glad I got Jarvis. Nothing is more relaxing than just sitting and watching a fish, and listening to the water flow through the filter. I feel much less stressed out now, and I missed the responsibility.

Anyway, just wanted to give a little introduction! I hope to get to know everyone better, and learn as much as I can about Bettas!

Your new member,
Stray

Hello Stray

I'm glad you got back on the bandwagon so to speak. And yes, normal can be boring IMO.

Thank you much Dramaqueen! Oh neat, nice to meet a fellow Coloradoan, well, past Coloradoan, but Coloradoan all the same! I have been living here for 16 years as well, moved here after my dad was stationed in Italy and was discharged. I can't picture myself living or moving anywhere else, state is perfect for me!

Whoa, very cool. I am an air force brat myself. Everyone on his side is from northern California and Oregon though. Mom's side is mostly from Kansas, Nebraska, and here in Colorado.
