Dont know gender of my betta!!?!?

I have a pretty betta fish that i bought from a while ago that is long, purple and blue and the tail is beautiful so i thought it was a female but i have no certainy wat the gender is

Which does it resemble?

Since you say its fins are pretty, its probably a male. Have a Picture of it by any chance?

there is a breed of males that have short fins, something starting with P but i forget

but im going to say its a male, cuz they have stalk them most

Female bettas should have white egg spot near their pectoral fins.

Yeah females have an oviposter between their two back finds on the bottom. You can see it clearly on my female.

plakat i believe is what youre talking about.

and if you bought it from walmart or your lfs (assuming you did, because if you would have bought it from a breeder it would have been specified wich gender when you bought it) and it has a long tail, its a male, since most stores seem to just carry veiltail, and sometimes crowntails in my experiences, so its really easy to tell the difference.
