Try feeding them frozen bloodworms.

Also how often do you do water changes and what do you feed?

I change the water every other day and that tank size is about 2 gallons.

I feed my betta Nutrafin Max, Betta Food. It's flakes with natural colour enhancers, and he just loves it. I have to crush them into small pieces for him though, because they are big flakes. Sometimes I'll give him freeze dried blood worms, but they are too big for his mouth too, so I have to break them up. He doesn't seem to like them as much as the flakes.
