Is there anything
that can be done about tailbiting? Anything to prevent it?
My beautiful HM Ezio finally started getting his fins back after suffering from finrot when I first got him. I medicated him, and it started growing back. About three days ago, he started tailbiting while I was in school. When I came back, more than half of the top half of his tail was gone.
If I see him in the middle of doing something he's not supposed to be doing, I tap on the glass to get him to stop, and that usually works, but I've yet to catch him tailbiting. What should I do? Are there any "toys" I could get him that could keep him entertained otherwise, so maybe he won't resort to chewing on his tail when he's bored?
So far, he has a floating log, a little hut to hide in, and a few silk plants in his tank; basically everything my old fish, Ciel, had. I plan on revamping it when I get my 25 gallon. He's gonna get a bunch of plants and some shrimp and cories. I'm sure they'd keep him entertained enough, but still...
