Something weird is going on...possibly velvet?

So I got my little dragon scale, Paarthurnax, about a week ago. So far he has been doing great....until I noticed something today.

I did a 100% water change because it was time to do so. Put him in his holding container and cleaned out the tank/plants/rocks with hot water, filled it back up, and put conditioner in it. I put the heater back in and let the tank sit for a half hour or so to get it to the right temperature. Before I put Paarth back into his clean tank, I noticed his holding water was cold from sitting there.

After I put him back in, I observed him for a while and noticed he had two golden-like stripes along both of his sides going from head to fin. Just one on each side. He has a brown/goldish body with the blue scales going over (he's a dragon scale), but I know he never had those stripes before.

He is currently swimming really fast around the tank and I think he might be trying to rub himself against things from what it looks like. I read the stickies in this forum and his symptoms seem like velvet, except that I don't need a flashlight to see this gold coloring.

Is it something else? What should I do? :C

Well....either I'm blind or he just played magic tricks on me. I just checked on him again and I don't see them...

Was he just stressed from being the cold water? Can they change color like that? o.o

Yes, they do change color like that when they get a little sressed out. The stripes are stress stripes, and my fish get them sometimes during a water change. My fish also dart after being stressed out during a water change. It's nothing to worry about. He's a cute fish! :)
