Hey all, My new DT/CT, Vito has got some problems.
He lays on the bottom of his bowl most of the time. He's not laying on his side or anything and he does get up and swim up to eat but it seems like he has to rapidly swim to get anywhere. He never just floats in the middle like everyone else.
Could this be a swim bladder issue? And if so, is there treatment for that?
Could this just be from the stress of getting a new home?
My DT did the same thing for several days, and did not eat either, till just the other day. Now he floats around nicely. Just give him some time to adjust. I was very worried about him. He even layed on his side. But now hes getting fiester and more used to living in his new place
Room temp. My others do fine without heaters.
I bought him a smaller bowl, cause when I put him backin the walmart cup he livened up.
I'll let you know hwo that goes. He is eating fine andeverything just not very active.
UPDATE: He is doing much better now that he is in a smaller tank. Maybe I can gradually move him to something bigger. I hate having them in small containers. But, he seems happier. He's floating around fine and eating good. He flares every time I walk by. Much better than he was this morning.
yes, mine was the same. Wouldn't eat out of his 5 gal. And I would have to take him and put him in a smaller container. Where he would eat, while I did a salt bath. But now he is settled in and loves the big tank.
