So I just got Mercutio yesterday (my Aquabid purchase) and I feel like his belly is a wee bit big. I have barely fed him because he doesn't seem interested in the flake food. He was in a box for 2 days to ship so I find it hard that he's been over fed in the past 3 days. Do some fish just have bigger bellies? His belly is bigger than Eric's or Cosmos', but he's also a different kind of Betta, he's a breeder, and he just shipped here. So I don't know if any of those factors could play into it. Any idea?
A lot of those Aquabid fish are like that. I would try feeding him pellets. You can always fast him for a day or two and see if the big belly goes down.
It's weird, sometimes when I look at him it doesn't look he has a belly at all. It's so weird. But I don't think he has eaten for a few days so I feel bad not feeding him. The seller said that he only fed his fish frozen foods, and I don't have any of that here so he is being given completely different food.
Yea I haven't been feeding him much. Just in case he is bloated or something, only 2 or 3 flakes a day (granted it's been 2 days haha). Other than the big belly he's great! Very active, doesn't hide, follows my finger, etc. So its just his wittle bewwy.
It looks like he's a little bloated. You can either fast him for a couple days or like DQ said, cut down on the pellets.
