Today I randomly stumbled across this male betta at a small local petstore. I was only planning on picking up a bag of filter carbon, but when this guy crossed my sight -- I just had to buy him. Only paid $5.88 for him but I swear I've seen plakats like him on aquabid for $40+ before!
LMAO...yes, the boy's been crapping since the moment he got home. I tried to get him to pinch off that loaf but no matter how much he flared and wiggled that dingleberry wouldn't budge.
Awesome betta Option, If he had longer ventrals, no spikes on his dorsal & a even white band on his anal fin then he could be a $40 betta, But he still looks good
He's nice. The spikes are his rays and no he won't loose them. Member "Mo" may have some salamander HMPK females for sale but I think they carry the dumbo gene.
His spikes could be genes or from power growth, Power growth is were they're forced grow while in there growth spurt while young by feeding them lots of food protein to make them grow faster than normal, Bad thing is it shortens there life span causing it's body to think is grow grow grow till it's body collapse, it's body may grow faster but it's organs are taking the beating
I'm curious, when is a betta's growth spurt? I'm going to guess in the first few months. The pics I posted are pretty deceiving as Napoleon is actually pretty small in length.
Growth spurts starts when they are juveniles 2-3months? It varies on how big your grow out tank is and culling is most important too so more space to grow for your fry's
I need to find him a nice female. Anyone know of where to get a good quality salamander (female of course)?
