i'm just wondering, because in the CTPK pair we're preparing to spawn, Sid the male has a full mask face, whereas Nancy has a prominent black stripe going down the center of her head (as dragons are wont to have) i'd just like to know what the odds of the babies having either coloration are.
I would say the odds are good most will have black on the heads. Usually black heads happen more in blues, sometimes reds if the reds have a black base (instead of cambodian base). Depends on the parents, the parent's parents, etc as well.
well they're both red dragons, their bodies are both 100% silvery white except for Nancy's black stripe, and a few red scales around both of their anal fins (color runover from their fin color, i figured)
Black stripe on dragons depends on the dragon genes. In dragons it isn't really dominant - not like in regular colors. So if both are dragons, though one isn't a full dragon/full masked, fry should mostly be full masked. . . . unless they were from non full masked or from non dragon crosses.
