hi, im new to this forum and I've had my betta for 4 years. right now he lives in a 2 gal tank w/ a heater and I feed him betta flakes. He's always had a problem w/ his fins. I change the water and add tap water remover and the next day his fins are all red and then they start falling off. they are sorta growing back but not much and they aren't as fluffy as they were before. does anybody know why this happens? I do add aquarium salt in the tank. Could it maybe be the food isn't good enough for him? what other foods could I give him besides flakes?
Well. He is in a 2 gallon tank. You should be changing the water every week 100% and 20% changes every other day or so. Okay.. So when you do change the water.. How warm is the new water when you add it to your tank, and do you use water conditionar each time?
well i have used a medicine for fin rot but it didn't work and idk if it's healthy to use that medicine every single time I change the water. but i will go and buy a small filter tom and ICK away.
It could be something is wrong with your water? Perhaps it would be best to use bottled spring water (still has trace minerals).
