hello all! We have had a betta fish for about 5 months and about 3 months ago, our betta started tilting to the side! There were several occasions where I though he was dead and when I went to get him out, he started swimming around like nothings wrong! I put him in a different tank today and watched him swim for a while and it seems like he is floating back up to the top like his equalibrium is off! What is wrong with my fish? He hasn't died and doesn't act sick otherwise, he even swims around on his side!!
some sort of swim bladder disease? very odd. Do you change the water regularly and keep it heated? What is the tank size? Any signs of bloating or anything else unusual?
i would probably assume swim bladder disease, which is often associated with overfeeding. How often do you feed him? Some people would suggest to try fasting for a while. Bettas can live with no food every now and then In fact, it's great for their digestive systems as it gets to "rest"
most likely swim bladder disorder try not feeding it as much or not feeding it at all for a few days after awhile it should go back to normal
