Hey my red CT male betta has a little bloated belly today. I changed his water yesterday, and he seems to be fine and normal, if maybe a little bit slower than normal. What is the best way to help him out? I am worried he is going to get worse after looking bloated betta bellies up. I am hoping that it is just constipation and that he will be better in the next few days. Should I fast him? He ate his food this morning completely normal. Any advice would be great, I am new to Bettas and am still learning alot.
You can do a few of things to help along.
First, no more food for a day or two.
Raise his water temperature slowly to 83-85 degrees, this will speed up his methabolism.
Make him exercise by placing a mirror in front of his tank for a few minutes a couple of times a day, the action sometimes triggers bowel movements.
Thank you so much! When you say raise the temperature slowly, how slowly, over a couple of days or what?
