I have this thermometer for Bo, and he even swims around it like it's a toy!
However, it sticks to the side like it's supposed to with the sucker cup (though you can take it off and let the thermometer float around a bit), has a really accurate reading (before I put it in the tank, I tested it with warm and cold water along with my mom's medical thermometer), and like bettaisbetter said, it looks really good in a tank!
For it's price, accuracy, and aesthetic appeal, my vote is for the Top Fin floating thermometer from PetSmart! :-D
+1. They're all the same if they're the floating ones. The "strip" thermometers are the inaccurate ones, avoid those. I also don't trust the electronic ones with the metal rod thing to test the water. I prefer Top Fin ones because they look quite nice in a tank. ;-)
Thanks to all, got the Topfin and my magnetic one is 2 degrees higher than Topfin. With heater thermostat set at 78, Topfin reads 78, magnetic reads 80.....
I like the ones with a suction cup because if you have a floaty one or a weighted one they easily get turned around so you can't see the line. Then you have to put your hand in to check it.
