I have an Eclipse Hex 5g tank and I was wondering if i could put more fish in it than just my betts and aqua frog. I've looked through what kind of fish can live together with the bettas, but I don't know if there's enough room for more than one fish in this tank... I don't want him to be lonley, but I don't want to over crowd him either.
I have my ten gallon divided in two 5g's and on one side I have a betta 3 neons and a ghost shrimp. It might be overstocked but they're all happy and healthy, fattest ghost shrimp Ive seen. But ghost shrimp are a good interesting choice if your frog doesnt eat them
I was thinking maybe a bottom feeder or something, to help clean up the poo
I should probably explain why I put this in the care forum. When I was really little, I was told at the pet store that you shouldn't put too many things in a fish tank because fish can get easily stressed out if there is too little space. I was more hoping if 5 galons would be too small for one or two extra fish and maybe a bottom feeder.
Well for a bottom feeder you could get one of those little otto catfish they only grow to 2"-3", but you'd have to get somebody elses opinion if that would be too much.
Yah, I saw what you said about the fish you have, so I'll wait to see what other people might say, if I should leave it at just getting a bottom feeder, or if there's other fish I can put in aswell..
At a local pet store they keep bettas in with tanks of different fish. that way you can look and see what fish a betta can live with. It is really quite convient, you should try to find a pet store near you that does the same thing.
If it were me (and it aint) I would leave him by himself.
