I didn't know forum topic to put this under...nor is this an emergency (my babies are doing swimmingly ;))

But I read somewhere that a person fed their Betta fish bits of a cooked Pea to help constipation/swim bladder...

Is it okay to feed you fish peas? And for what purpose would you do that for?

I have read from multiple people on here not to feed peas to your fish. The reasoning is that it is supposed to cause constipation for your fish. However, I do not have any personal experience with this myself.

Also, Betta Care/ Betta Chat would have been viable options as well. :)

I've been told by oldfishlady that peas can be used effectively to treat constipation (not swim bladder issues). But you don't need to do it weekly. Fasting for a day will give you the same result, unless the fish are suffering from severe constipation.

When my fish was constipated, I fed him some frozen brine shrimp (Petco didn't have frozen daphnia), and it fixed his constipation very quickly. It's like 90% water.
