When I first got Giovanni he blew bubble nests all the time. He doesn't do it any more. He seems very happy, he's in a nice big 10 gallon clean tank with lots of room and places to hide and play.
I wonder though... why won't he make bubble nests anymore? Could there be something wrong with him? :-( Is he unhappy??
Lack of a bubblenest doesn't really mean anything. Only 2 of mine blow bubblenests. I kind of think that as they grow older, they stop blowing them or they scatter the bubbles around.
LOL! Oh my goodness... you folks are the kindest people around! I'm so obsessed with my Betta's. I couldn't help but laugh at myself. Thank you so much.
Most of you are so young but I'm a middle aged woman on a crusade to save Betta's and I really love my little guys. LOL I want them to have the best of everything and be happy and healthy.
I guess my kids are older than most members, I love the enthusiasm you all have here( so like humans, fish may lose interest in "nesting" as they get older?) Question, does a big bubblenest cut down the available oxygen at the surface, guess not as no one has ever mentioned that
Hmmmm I never thought of that Sharon, good question. Hopefully one of our little experts will chime in. This place is a wealth of information! ;-)
My little Iggy makes bubble nests all the time but his tank is way too big for him to cover the entire area. He ususally sticks to one corner with his nests.
