Hello and welcome to the forum. Most people feed their bettas twice a day, 2-3 pellets each time. You can also feed them bloodworms, brine shrimp or daphnia. I feed mine all 3 once a week. You can get either freeze dried or frozen. Freeze dried needs to be rehydrated before feeding to prevent digestive problems.
IMO its not. I feed my guys 3-4 pellets twice daily. BUT I also only feed 3-4 times a week so I never have problems with consitpation etc.
IMO as long as your betta is acting normally and doesn't look over fed (i.e. constipated or fat) he should be ok.
If you have females I would only feed 2 pellets unless you are conditioning them for breeding or something. Females are smaller so it makes sense that they wouldn't need as much food.
I feed my males 5 pellets a day (3 in the morning, 2 at night). I feed my females 3-4 a day (2 or in the morning and 1 or 2 at night. Candi is a big female so she gets 4 and my smaller one gets 3 really small pellets (I have to crush them). I also fast them every friday.
Lol I'm a girl. Bloo, I would do half in the morning and half at night. 5 pellets all at once is a lot on their stomachs (their stomachs are the size of their eye). Sorry, yes, fasting means that I don't feed them at all Fridays. It's good for their digestive system.
