I was cleaning Cinder's tank and rearranging his plants today... and I got a random wave of nostalgia for TianTian and Taco. I really miss them. I even went back in the forum to read my old stories I wrote about them and all of our adventures.
Cinder keeps me company, though. He's taken to flaring at me and charging the glass every time I either walk by or lean in to say hi. Just now he was charging the glass in full flare and "WHAM!" runs into his plant. He just stopped flaring and gave the plant this quizzical look as if to say, "how did THAT get there??"
Ah, but I miss my other two boys. And in a small way I wish I had another Betta... maybe a female this time... but we'll have to see how finances work out.

Awwwww.... I know how you feel. I still miss my gorgeous boy Baccus. Something about that fish stole my heart. But I still have 5 more boys and one female to spread the love around
I know I'll probably get a female the next time I get a Betta. A nice veiltail. Cinder is a deep maroon color and I wonder what color female I should get..? Suggestions?
I have half a mind to breed the pair later once I have time and resources (and willing people to buy the fish once they're older) to do so. I've been reading up on breeding off and on for months now and the idea simply excites me! And I know Cinder is exceptionally healthy and willing to breed because he's always agreeable, sociable and his bubblenests are HUGE!!! They cover nearly a third of his square 2.5 gallon tank!
He's swimming around his tank right now, trying to figure out where to make his new nest since I rearranged the plants today.
Thoughts?
