Ok I originally had 3 VT and one CT, so today I got a female CT so I have at least one pair of each strain. When I picked her out she was really light, just kind of a light brown body with a little teal on her fins, now that she has had time to aclimate to the tank and is loose she is very dark and I dont see any green on her, shes a purplish brown color lol. I will try and get a good picture but I havent been able to as of yet. Anyway my male is very purple with a little red on the edges of his fins, any ideas on what colors they could produce? I think I will name her Ishka :-D
These are actually good pics, shes just that dark, a big change from a tanish brown with teal fins when I bought her. What color would you consider her to be?
She looks black in the pictures - but not a melano or lace kind, more like the super black/copper black kind. In other words you can breed her if you want (melano females are infertile).
When bettas are .... sort of relaxed, they often show a lighter shade. But my blacks do not turn brownish - only a lighter shade of black. So I don't really know her (your female) actual color.
