My betta just recently got a white fuzz/fungus on her mouth!
I just noticed today when I was cleaning her tank. I'd noticed that she had been a little less energetic and not as anxious to eat lately, but I didn't think much of it. But now that I see this, I'm worried!
Should I get some kind of medication? And if so, what would the cost be?
Thanks.
My betta had the same thing.. Best bet for you is if you don't have any Tetras or real plants, get some aquarium salt and Rid-Fungus or any other medication that can treat fungus. I've heard BettaMax works well but never tried it.
Either way, if you have Tetras or any live plants, take them out or if you have a QT tank place your Betta in there on his own and use about ~15 drops every 24 hours of Rid-Fungus and 1/2 teaspoon of salt and get your net and mix it in there.. When the Betta recovers, leave him in the QT tank with the meds for about half a day and then put him back in the tank with everyone else.
Make sure you get to it quick though! I lost my last Betta because the fungus seemed to have spread to his beard-like fin on his underbelly..
Oh and the disease your Betta's got is Columnaris! Which is exactly what mine had
