I just looked in to my Snail/Shrimp tank and noticed these fine fine lines, I thought they were scratches but they started moving like a worm. What the hell are these, are they harmful? I know most bugs are just harmful scavengers, etc but these have really freaked me out, I have never noticed them before so my guess is that they are coming off the java moss that I put in there Friday. Any ideas?
Most of the critters in our tank are harmless and some can be a sign of a healthy thriving tank while others it can be a sign of poor husbandry or need of more water changes and less food.
Check this link and see if you can ID your bug/worm: http://planetinverts.com/what_is_that_bug_in_my_aquarium.html
No I couldn't see them in the list, I don't think its poor water conditions because I clean the tank five times a week but saying that I have just started the snails/shrimp on Hikari Crab Cuisine and the packet said 3-4 pellets twice a day so maybe I am overfeeding.
You may be overfeeding........but maybe not too..... how many shrimp and snails and what size is the tank and is it filtered and water temp, live plants?
