Can anyone tell me if it is normal for a young ....6month.....male to turn from bright red to a tail that is almost transparent? I raised some half moons and they have been totally brilliant red....now they are turning clear...a mystery to me. The females don't seem to be doing the same. thanks.
i think that could involve the "jumping gene" am not sure :| it sounds strange, unless the betta is growing more fins and dosen't have color pigments yet
i really want a "jumping gene" betta, the closest thing is kristie  she gained red in her fins :-D and it looks lovely ) (she is my favorite, shh don't tell my fish :lol and may we see pics?
Here's what marbles can do. I had no idea Sheldon was a marble, until I looked back at when I first got him and I was shocked lol. I had no idea how much he had changed.
Never thought of the red loss gene, wow I blanked out on that one LOL
When it started the tail fins were just edged in the clear color but within a few days they were a totally different color. beautifulbetta....your betta is gorgeous...hope mine end up looking like that. The fins are long and gorgeous .....just changing color so fast. I will try to some pics but my camera isn't the best.
Don't worry about the camera not being the best. Mine isn't either, but I still try to post some pics every now and then. I'm sure your's will be beautiful.
