I was cleaning out Pickles tank today, but not before Nenets.
She was doing good, trying to swim around, looking for food.
So I left with Pickles tank for a out half an hour.
Came back after 15 minutes though to check on the girl, and she was still fine.
So I felt and came back with Pickles tank.
Half way across the room, I notice something off.
I couldnt see Nenet.
So I ran over with the bowl, and she was nowhere to be found (not that there IS anywhere to hide in an undecorated 1 gallon tank, but I saw something move through the bottom.
I nudged it over with my free hand and Nenet was LYING under the tank, flipping around.
I dropped the tank on the ground and picked Nenet up and put her back in,
who immediately went to hide.
I noticed a little white line on her body, so I have yet another wound to care for.
So I cleaned up the mess, put Pickle in, put a little more conditioner in to help ease her stress, and sat down and cried.
I think she was out for a while, maybe 10-15 minutes.
The thing I dont get is, the water must have been 3 inches from the top of the tank!
I didnt have a lid on, Becuase I didnt think she could jump that high, but I guess she did.
Awh, Im so nervous.
When I turned off the light to see how she would react, she came out and started darting everywhere.
She was hitting the tank and just freaking out.
She had stress stripes no doubt for the 2nd time since I got her.
This ust makes everything worse.

Could someone throw out a few tips or advice please?
I litteraly hyperventilated in my room for 10 minutes beforecalming down.
Its been about half an hour to an hour since this happened.
I wouldve posted sooner but I was busy cleaning up.
:BIGweepy:

I'm not sure who was more scared - you or the fish? Doggyhog's idea sounds like a good one. Turn the lights off on the tank or wherever she is and let her calm down. Then you can cover yourself in a towel so you can relax too LOL

Hope nothing happened to her.

Happy Thanksgiving

LOL.
Thanks.
Took a peek at her and shes just winding down under her ornament.
Or, well, more like freaking out.
I keep seeing this little white line on her side.
Looks like she scratched herself on her little suicidal fling.

I'll pray for the little girl!

My Kristoph did the suicide hop when I was setting up his tank for the first time. Just take a few deep breaths and let her calm down too. It took my guy a day or two to swim around normal again. Just keep an eye on her, extra attention is never a bad thing.

Thanks Hope.
Been doing that all the while.

And luckily,
it looks like things have taken a turn for the better!
Woke up this morning, and checked on her under her little towel,
she swam up to greet me.
You can obviously see the scales are coming back on her head, its not so peachy colored.
And when I checked on her again (habits) her tail was open, then closed.
Kind of like a fan.
So her fins is spreading out, but it usually clamps shut again.
Either shes healing, or shes putting on a very convincing play,
but I think everything will be all good.

Scary, I know! I'm glad she's feeling better. You probably caught her pretty quick. I had no idea they could jump that high!

I used to have a couple of fantail goldfish in a 20 gallon and I remember I had a dream that one of them jumped out. The next day I kept counting them and I was shocked to see one missing. She'd leapt out and landed in my dresser drawer in a rubbery bathing suit I had and there was a little pocket of water under her. I think that's the only thing that saved her. Well, that and the dream!

Well, some more unfortuneate news people-but first, the better.
It looks like were on hour way to a complete recovery she is swiming with a almost full flared tail, closing only when she rests.
BUT,
when I came home, took a look at her,
and it looks like my sweetie has Ick.
She has at least 6 white dots on her pectoral fins, and a few on her body,
including her head.
I cleaned her tank, full amount of water-with the lid.
Still no gravel, its a pain to clean with sick fish,
and basically the same setup.
the water temparature is around 76-80 F.
Put a towel over the tank - she stills prefers dim places - with half a teaspoon of salt.
Helped me with Pickle,
hopefully will help again.
Plus, mom said that Im spending too much on my fish, and that they are just fish when I obsess over Nenet when Im treating her.
To make matters worse, I am no longer allowed to buy anything over 10 dollars on my babies.
Stubborn mom, I think Ive inherited her one track mind o-o
So thats all about Nenet.

I just noticed that there has been no Pickle updates.
Well, his back fin is growing.
Little clear thing that just keeps trailing behind him o-o
His little bubblenest are starting to be built underwater, under his little leaves.
I look unde rit, and see these masses of bubbles.
