I have a 2.5 mini bow for my betta what kind of shrimp should i get ? can i get a cat fish in there ? I know it is a small tank so i may not put anyone in with the betta but wanted to here what everyone thinks.
Try a ghost shrimp.there pretty cool......people are gonna say that a 2.5 alone is to small. he will be fine in there. i had a betta and a goldfish and some weird fish that i cant remember the name of in a 2.5. they were fine for 3 years, and the betta was really active.
Shrimp don't really have a great effect on the bioload, so stocking-wise you'll be fine with a shrimp and a betta in a 2.5 gallon, however be aware that the betta may eat the shrimp.
I'd start with ghost, they are like .33$ an if your betta doesn't eat it then go for the more expensive ones.
Oh and FYI, goldfish are coldwater fish that get HUGE, and require 20 gallons for 1. Putting one in a 2.5, is like keeping your betta in the cup. May live, but doesn't thrive.
We have the same tank! Cool. I am going to return the catfish I bought yesterday (poor thing! he's so cute, I feel bad) and hopefully get 1 or 2 ghost shrimp. Please post pics of your tank? I love seeing other people's setups in these tanks.
Ghost, amano, or any other dwarf algea eating shrimp. Crs, Rcs, blueberry, bee, bumble bee, their are tons of varietys!
