so I was continuing my search for a tank make over and saw flikr photo of a poor little CT male in less than an inch of water!!! I mean who would ever think that a fish should live like that?!
I agree. Like when you first bring the fish home and you take a pic before putting him in his tank? The water looks to be blue from the Methylene Blue they usually use at the store.
i often take photos of my bettas in a half gallon Kritter Keeper, but it's just for photos. i'm sure the owner of that beautiful boy doesn't keep him like that. if you could find their page, i'm sure you'll see more photos of him, in an actual tank. :3
Is the blue stuff safe for Betta's? I mean you'd naturally think that if their putting it in there that it should be.. but I don't put that much faith in chain stores.
It's a safe mild medication. LFS use it to "prevent illnesses" that are caused by the dirty water. Go figure . They waste money on meds when clean water would be cheaper and probably easier.
my lps doesn't use that stuff. they rely on clean water. >3> cups are changed daily, and i've never seen as much as one poo in the cups for as long as i've been shopping there. :d
When I was buying my female crown tail from petco one of the betta's had water that low, while all the others were a nice depth for the size of the container.
