Treatment Day Three: SBD and who knows what else

So we are on day three of QT in Epsom Salt and tannins.. yesterday AM he was a little more upright but by evening when we got home he was sideways again. There is debris at the bottom of the tank so something is going on. He has not eaten in days... like two weeks and he has zero interest in anything you throw in front of him.

His QT tank is temp maintained as is the medevac tank we use to move him between the 100% water changes. We float both in a larger tank so the temp is maintained at 80'ish. He is at least active and fights the move between tanks which is positive somewhat but I am at a loss otherwise. These are the best pics I could get taken a short while ago while he was between moves.

looks like he also haves pop eye and fin rot poor lil guy he looks miserable  since he is already being QT the treatment your currently doing should help

Looks like a case of dropsy too and possible fin rot. I had a boy like that he lived if that helps at all except for the eye part there almost the same. He was floating like that too. I ended up doing an epsom salt treatment and raising the temp to 83* he ended up being a case of chronic swim bladder disorder. Hope your boy gets better :)

His fins have always looked like that since we got him. The popeye I have been wondering about as well but was not sure. Now the dropsy is what I was initially worried about but I see no pineconing on him. I have been hella close up and looking with an LED shining on him and using a magnifying glass.

I definitely see what you mean, I scoured those pics as well. The wife and I just did a thorough once over on him double checking. The scowl you see on his eye was him looking at me when I had him on camera.. a WTF are you doing to me NOW! :)

Oh, that Great Stuff idea.. sweeeeet. ;)

Ha ha Great stuff is my secret addiction , and hopefully he will get over his SWD and then you might be able to tell what else he has if anything. Best of luck!

Well, thanks to you he's pooping, at least trying now. It didn't help we were all up in him trying to see if he was pineconing and checking for the popeye. He flared a couple of times so that must have been the sign. lol

I took that little cave thing and Great Stuff'ed the hell out of it. It is out in the garage curing now.

If he doesnt manage to pass anything I would raise the temp maybe and add more epsom salt depending on what is in there now.
This is the link that led me to go Great stuff crazy but there are many ways to paint and decorate the foam afterwords so many things to do with it XD
