At night, my betta has been sleeping in his cave with his head poking out. Is this normal behavior? Or is he not going all the way in his cave for some other reason?
Is he normally during the day? If so, it's probably no big deal.
One of mine sleeps half-way in his cave.... Another sleeps in her leaf hammock near the surface.... And the third sleeps mid-water, out in the open.... But all three are fine during the daytime, despite their varied sleeping preferences!
Yeah he is for sure more active during the day. He does take tiny cat naps, more than he used to, but he is probably about a year and a half old now, so that is to be expected. He also will just sleep on the gravel out in the open lol...
There is no normal for bettas lol, i have 1 that sleeps on the gravel, literally on his side!!!! it scares me, sometimes i think he's dead, other times he sleeps in his hammock. Lol.
new member, have 3 bettas. Veiltale sleeps on its side like it's dead, crown and plakat both in caves. Funny, and weird fish these creatures are.
