I have a fluval edge which I plan on using to house a betta fish (of course) and was wondering which substrate would be better...

I suppose I could get either but I've never had fish or anything before. From what I read so far with my setup I plan on getting one of those substrates, a heater, perhaps some silk plants and a little terra cotta pots. And maybe if I can fit in there a betta log Already upgraded the halogen lights to LED lights aswell. If any of you have seen a fluval its supposed to fill up all the way and is enclosed, for my betta I plan to just lower the water level line so he can breathe.
