Bubblenests usually mean that male bettas are healthy and happy. When breeding, males build bubblenests to put the eggs into. During spawning, the male lures the female under the bubblenest and they spawn. The male then picks up the falling eggs and spits them into the bubblenest. Just because they blow a bubblenest doesn't mean that they have to be bred, though. There will usually be foamy looking bubbles in a corner of a tank. Some males scatter their bubbles all over the tank. Hope this helps.
