my sister,Kim,and i were just at petsmart cuz i needed to get hay for my rabbits and was going to get another betta and Kim decided she wanted one to so we were looking at all the bettas they had and Kim spotted out this wonderful little blue marble VT betta(note:ive been wanting a blue marble) but then she also saw this black and red CT that she wanted more then the blue marble so of course we both came to the agreement that she would take the black and red CT and i would take the blue marble VT
so here is a pic of him(ill post more) btw i named him Blue! (more pics of Blue on mah profile)
its funny you say that and i wish i knew sooner because it did tear his fins i took the plant out and cleaned his tank so hopefuly it wont get infected and it will heal quickly...so lets just say im planing on replacing all my plastic plants with real (or silk) ones (mostlikely real) cuz i definately dont want this to happen again
Oh dear! I learned that lesson myself the hard way, which is why I mentioned it to you. And when my betta tore his fins on one of those evil plants, I kept aquarium salt in the tank and it seemed like it had healed. But then he got stressed being moved to a new tank and now he has fin rot.
So be careful! I would put aquarium salt in his water if I were you.
thank you,and that is cool!!!! Blue was a real blessing because like i said ive been wanting one for a while and then there he was ^-^ (thanks to kimi)
@Amour-OH NO! thats not good...i hope he gets better! and all i have is table salt and i hear that is not good so ide haf to go buy some...for now i just keeping his tank squeeky clean and praying lol hopeing for the best
If there comes a point you feel you need to use salt, go to the grocery story & get canning or kosher salt. They do the same thing as aquarium salt at a fraction of the price.
they don't need a plant, but it is highly highly recommended. who knows, maybe when you're out or sleeping , your betta's caatching some ZZZ's under the plant. And whenever you do see him out and swimming, he's hyper.? hah Mine is like this, at night when i wake up sometimes, i turn the dim light on and see him chilling on the plants when he barely ever goes to it during the day.
I haven't seen any rips or tares on his fins, but I dont wanna risk it so I'm gonna take it out. I just don't know what to replace it with so he'll have more places to hide other than behind the filter and the cave...
The cave should last you until your birthday. I think it's better to have a healthy betta than a pretty tank. Remember to only get silk plants or live ones. And even then, the silk ones have to have no rough edges.
