If he is warm, swimming and playing with his plants and caves, exploring or looking out the tank cuz he's curious or ih he makes a bubble nest are pretty noticable things.
Is there something wrong with your fish making you think he's not happy?
No, just got my first Betta this past weekend and wanted to make sure he was happy and not stressed. He sure does swim around a lot and seems to be very curious. So I guess all is good.
Happy bettas are active, have nice clear eyes and coloring, and usually blow bubblenests (even if they're just little ones), they will flare and show their fins if presented a mirror.
Stressed out bettas hide, swim frantically, rarely flare and run from their reflections, and don't swim with their fins extended fully.
